Marijuana is made by combining the stems, leaves, flowers and seeds of the hemp plant. The hemp plant has an active ingredent in it known as “THC” (tetrahydrocannabinol). This ingredent is known to cause disturbance in the way the brain works. Marijuana has many other chemicals that also effect individuals in different ways and can lead to addiction. Known street names for marijuana are “Pot, Grass, Weed, Mary Jane, Indo and Hydro”. The effects of marijuana can vary from one person to the next, but prolonged use of marijuana will cause problems such as impaired judgement, shortened attention span, impaired motor coordination, distractibility, anxiety, panic attacks, increased heart rate, schizophrenia and many others.
Withdrawal Symptoms of Marijuana
Marijuana is one of the most abused illegal drugs, and the rates of marijuana use only continue to rise. Individuals who regularly use marijuana continue to travel down a spiral path of long-term abuse. Overcoming marijuana will deliver you from the physical and emotional dependency you have developed for this drug, but you should expect to experience some withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, loss of appetite, irritability, depression, anxiety and nausea.
Effects of Marijuana
Long-term use of marijuana will have a negative effect on the life of a user. Marijuana takes away a person’s motivation and drive, and you loose interest in things you once enjoyed. The fact that marijuana can lead to harder drug use is still being debated, however, many statistics tend to point in that direction. Whether it is true or not, it isn’t worth taking the risk.
